BRP advises Eberspächer on its Stake in two mobility-solution Start-ups
The Next Shed by Eberspächer business innovation division is further expanding its strategic partnerships in the field of mobility solutions. Due to the purchase of two minority stakes in the start-ups Flybotix and Nüwiel, the Esslingen-based company opens up new technologies and markets. BRP provided comprehensive legal advice to Eberspächer with a team led by Dr. Axel Neumahr.
The two companies, Nüwiel SA, a company based in Lausanne, and the Hamburg- based Flybotix GmbH, offer CO2-neutral solutions for goods transport, intralogistics and maintenance.
Flybotix has developed a drone that only needs two rotors -instead of the usual four- and is used in intralogistics and the field of maintenance.
Nüwiel builds an electrically powered trailer that is specially designed for transporting goods in inner cities or residential areas and solves the problem of the "last mile".
Next Shed by Eberspächer follows an international strategy for the targeted search for attractive partnerships and stake opportunities. The stakes in Flybotix and Nüwiel allow the automotive supplier to pursue this strategy, aiming to achieve clean mobility and expanding its technology portfolio for motorized short-distance transport.
The Eberspächer Group employes a workforce of about 10,000 at 80 locations worldwide and ranks amongst the leading system developers and suppliers of the automotive industry. The family-owned company with its headquarters in Esslingen am Neckar stands for innovative solutions in exhaust technology, vehicle electronics and air conditioning for various vehicle types. In 2019, the group of companies generated sales of over 4.9 billion euros.
