Dr. Mark Wiume
Mark specialises in the areas of intellectual property law and competition law, with a particular focus on patent law, trademark law, design protection and copyright law. Other focal points of his work are brand management and development of brand and trademark filing strategies and the preparation of license and usage agreements. He is constantly active in proceedings before the German Patent and Trademark Office and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
Mark studied law at the University of Konstanz. During his clerkship, he also attended the University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer. He gained international experience during his clerkship in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He earned his doctorate in trademark law under Prof. Dr. Karl-Heinz-Fezer at the University of Konstanz. Mark qualified as an attorney in 1999 and became a partner at BRP in 2003. He has been a certified attorney in industrial property law since 2006. Mark is also a lecturer at the Academy for Communication in Baden-Württemberg and is a member of the German Association for Industrial Property and Copyright Law, International Trademark Association and the Working Group on Intellectual Property and Media in the DAV. He headed their regional group in Stuttgart from 2011-2013. He is also a speaker at the Chamber of Commerce seminar "Business Process Manager".

In 2020, 2021 and 2022, Mark has been recognized as a leading expert in intellectual property law in the ranking „Germany´s Best Lawyers“ released by the US specialist publisher Best Lawyers and the Handelsblatt.
