Werner Gaus, LL.M.
Werner advises financial institutions on all matters of banking and investment law and represents their interests in court. In addition, Werner counsels medium-sized enterprises and international companies, particularly from France, in the area of commercial and corporate law. Werner is a specialist attorney for commercial and corporate law.
Werner studied in Augsburg and Freiburg (Germany) and Lausanne (Switzerland). He earned an LL.M. degree from Tulane Law School in New Orleans (USA); he is admitted to the bar in the State of New York. Werner has been working as an attorney since 1989. He is fluent in German, French and English.
Werner is active on the Board of the German-French Lawyers' Association and regularly gives presentations at Chambers of Commerce on drafting international agreements, with special attention to the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, Incoterms 2010, and the particularities to be observed when using letters of credit. Werner is a specialist lecturer at the Deutsche Bundesbank training center in Eltville (Germany).
In 2020, 2021 and 2022, Werner has been recognized as a leading expert in banking and finance law in the ranking „Germany´s Best Lawyers“ released by the US specialist publisher Best Lawyers and the Handelsblatt.
